Sprint Review: June 07 – June 20, 2021

posted on Jun 20, 2021 by Meg James

We have been using a basic project management system to track what story projects we’re working on. We began doing this almost one year ago, with variable success. Although we haven’t consistently met deadlines, it has kept us more focused and on-track with projects and it provides some transparency in what we’re doing (admittedly, the tasks and descriptions are vague to avoid spoiling story content).

This post is a review of the sprint taking place from June 07 to June 20, 2021. The tasks in this sprint were related to three projects: Wild Hunt, Bleakbarrow Incident, and Bottle World: The Key Suspect.

The tasks

Bottle World: The Key Suspect made a reappearance in this sprint after being considered very nearly done. Upon a review of the comic, it was determined that a few extra pages were needed to “smooth out” the flow of the story. “BW:TKS additional page 1” and “BW:TKS additional page 2” were added as tasks this sprint and completed on time. A cover page for this story, “BW:TKS cover page,” has been sketched, but not yet completed. This will be moved forward into the next sprint.

Bleakbarrow Incident is a story project that will consist of approximately 12 parts that vary somewhat in length and format. The detailed outline was essentially finalized in this sprint after sitting for a while in the “final check” category. Part 1 was scripted during a previous sprint, and we are onto part 2. The script for part 2 is broken roughly into six sections, three of which were drafted by the end of this sprint. The following three sections will be the focus of the next sprint.

Wild Hunt chapter 2 was intended to be scripted in this sprint. Although much progress was made in this task, it will be moved forward to the next sprint to be finished.

Next Sprint

The next sprint will involve completing the cover page for Bottle World: The Key Suspect, completing the script of Bleakbarrow Incident part 2, and completing the script of Wild Hunt chapter 2.

Thanks for joining us! Be sure to check the “Projects” tab in the site header to take a peek at the Story Lab. That’s where you’ll see the progress on our current sprint.
